The Chicago Marine Aquarium Society(CMAS) is holding the Marine Conference of Illinois (MACI) next Sunday March 11th at the Pheasant Run in St. Charles,IL.  This event has four speakers including Kevin Kohen of Live Aquaria and Tal Sweet of the Marine Breeding Initiative.  There are also plenty of coral and equipment vendors selling corals and showing off the latest products to get your aquarium running at its best.  There is also a Reef Ball workshop and other events.  The cost is $20 at the door or $18 before hand.  If you are a CMAS member you can get your ticket...

If you have nothing to do this weekend take the short drive and see me at the Madison Frag Swap on Saturday January 28th from 12-3 at the VFW Post 7591 301 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison WI.  I plan to be there selling some corals, fish and some dry goods.  It looks like there will be plenty of great corals at the event.  It looks like there are 20 plus people to by corals and fish from. The Greenwater aquarist Society in holding their winter auction on January 29th 2012 in Alsip,IL.  I have not attended one of these events but from what I have heard you can get some great deals on freshwater fish including cichlids.  It is supposed to be well run.
